Don Surber: Trayvon Obama?

Trayvon Obama?

Trayvon Obama? March 25, 2012 by Don Surber

Fascinating, my instincts told me that there was more to this story; especially after the pressure to 'rush to judgment' was set in motion so that the political agenda could quickly be obtained before the rest of the story got out...

"The first red flag to pop up is that Al Sharpton is involved. That automatically raises the credibility question. This could be Tawana Brawley II..." [...] From the London Daily Mail:

The witness told FOX 35 in Orlando that he saw evidence of a fight between Martin and Zimmerman, which could lend credence to the gunman’s claim that he was acting in self-defense.

‘The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: “Help, help… and I told him to stop and I was calling 911,’ he said.

Zimmerman was wearing a red sweater; Martin was in a grey hoodie..." [...] … http://blogs.dailymail.com/donsurber/archives/53318

Madoff-invested charities contributed $365k to Media Matters :Bernie Madoff | Media Matters | Foundations | The Daily Caller

Bernie Madoff | Media Matters | Foundations | The Daily Caller: "Media Matters for America accepted funding from at least three foundations whose money “grew” under the fraudulent stewardship of the now-incarcerated Bernard Madoff. One of those foundations was backed by a man many believe was in cahoots with the legendary financial criminal.

Madoff’s Wall Street empire crumbled in late 2008 after federal authorities were tipped off to his multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme...

Limbaugh responds to JournoList death wish report

Limbaugh responds to JournoList death wish report

This morning I asked Rush Limbaugh what he thought of references to him on the private left-wing journalist discussion group JournoList. As reported in the Daily Caller, an NPR producer named Sarah Spitz wrote on JournoList that if she witnessed Limbaugh dying of a heart attack, she would “laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out.”

“I never knew I had this much hate in me,” Spitz wrote, according to the Daily Caller account. “But he deserves it.”

So I asked Limbaugh: What do you make of the fact that people in positions of influence on the Left don’t just want to see you fail, don’t just want to see you marginalized, but would actually like to witness you dying a painful death?

“Not having wished anyone dead, nor having fantasized about watching someone die, I cannot possibly relate to this,” Limbaugh responded.

Read he reply here

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/at-washington-post-mums-the-word-on-journolist-98909894.html

At Washington Post, mum’s the word on JournoList

Is there a problem for the Washington Post? Potentially.

Since the paper employs JournoList’s founder and proprietor, and since comments on JournoList led to Weigel’s leaving the paper, and since those events raise questions about whether other Post journalists took part in JournoList, and since there are likely more stories to come from the thousands of still-unpublished exchanges on JournoList, it is reasonable to ask what the Post’s management knows, and what it knew in the past, about Post journalists taking part in the list-serv.

It’s reasonable to ask — but the Post isn’t going to answer.

The Daily Caller: Proposed Senate jobs bill includes health-care provisions

Proposed Senate jobs bill includes health-care provisions

The health-care bill may have stalled in Congress, but the draft of the $80 billion jobs bill that just emerged from the Senate contains a number of health provisions. As Majority Leader Harry Reid prepares to propose a final version of the bill before the end of the month, some experts are asking whether the jobs legislation is health-care reform by other means. The House passed its version of a $154 billion jobs bill in December.

Health-care provisions in the draft of the Senate jobs bill include: […]

Howard Kurtz: A look at Tucker Carlson's the Daily Caller

Media Notes: A look at Tucker Carlson's political Web site, the Daily Caller

By Howard Kurtz Monday, January 11, 2010; C01

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/10/AR2010011002388.html?nav=rss_opinion/columns

"We need a roundup of the weirdness," Tucker Carlson shouted, walking past a row of young staffers hunched over laptops on the sort of cheap- looking teak tables that scream start-up venture.

The Fox News commentator launches his new Web site, the
Daily Caller, on Monday. His partner is Neil Patel, a former Dick Cheney aide. His opinion editor is Moira Bagley, who spent 2008 as the Republican National Committee's press secretary. And his $3 million in funding comes from Wyoming financier Foster Friess, a big-time GOP donor.

But Carlson insists this won't be a right-wing site: "I don't feel guilty about or ashamed in any way of saying we'll cover the people in power," he says, dismissing the capital's Republicans as "totally powerless."

"Our goal is not to get Republicans elected. Our goal is to explain what your government is doing. We're not going to suck up to people in power, the way so many have. There's been an enormous amount of throne-sniffing," he says, a sly grin beneath the mop of brown hair. "It's disgusting."

When he announced the Daily Caller last spring, Carlson was more explicit about its ideology, telling Human Events the site would be "opposed to what's going on" under President Obama -- "a radical increase in federal power . . . a version of socialism."

The Tentacle : Spontaneous Incompetence by Kevin E. Dayhoff January 13, 2010

In an incident, almost totally ignored by the dominant United States major news media, comes word that an American hero, the renown Army Green Beret-turned-Iraq/Afghanistan war correspondent, Michael Yon, was “arrested” January 5 as he entered the country for failing to disclose his income.

No, as unbelievable as it may seem, I am not making this up.

The news comes barely 10 days after a 23-year-old Nigerian named Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was essentially given a pass by authorities to fly about the country, as a result of bureaucratic bungling of byzantine proportions, with a bomb in his pants which he planned to kill nearly 300 airplane passengers on Christmas Day.

It is in this context that Mr. Yon, the award-winning American combat-journalist, wrote on his Facebook page at 11:05 A.M. January 5:

“Got arrested at the Seattle airport for refusing to say how much money I make... Their videos and audios should show that I was polite, but simply refused questions that had nothing to do with national security….”

[…]

According to Aleksandra Kulczuga, writing for the web publication, The Daily Caller, [http://dailycaller.com/] Mr. Yon said: “I was caught off-guard by the question [about my income]…” Yon, an American citizen traveling on an American passport, said he cooperated fully when asked standard security questions about what was in his suitcase: “I was on better-than-normal behavior.”

[…]

For those who are not familiar with Mr. Yon, there is no better place to start than with his web publication, “Michael Yon Online Magazine,” http://www.michaelyon-online.com/...
