Me thinks that Michelle Obama must be lacing the organic vegetables at the White House with some illegal narcotic.  Either that or Obama's smoking addiction goes way beyond cigarettes.

How else to explain his attempt to persuade us that he and our first President are like brothers?  He's just a habitual liar, you say?  Well, I guess there's that.

During his televised address in the Rose Garden yesterday, Obama actually justified his blowout government spending palooza by quoting none other than George Washington.
Said the Messiah, "It's always more popular to promise the moon and leave the bill for after the next election or the election after that.  That's been true since our founding.  George Washington grappled with this problem.  He said, ‘Towards the payment of debts, there must be revenue, that to have revenue there must be taxes, [and] no taxes can be devised which are not more or less inconvenient and unpleasant.'  He understood that dealing with the debt is -- these are his words -- 'always a choice of difficulties.'"

For Obama to pull the "Hey, George Washington loved taxes too" card is almost comical.  Almost. Here's why it's not. Read on...

Washington Post Politics News Alert: Obama to propose $1.5 trillion in new taxes

Politics News Alert: Obama to propose $1.5 trillion in new taxes
September 18, 2011 9:23:59 PM
----------------------------------------

President Obama's plan to tame the nation’s rocketing federal debt by finding at least $3 trillion in new savings, to be released Monday, includes $1.5 trillion in new taxes, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Combined with his call earlier this month for $450 billion in new stimulus, the proposal represents a more populist approach to confronting the nation’s economic travails than the compromises he advocated this summer.

News from The Hill:

Tensions flare between White House, Europe ahead of IMF, World Bank meetings
By Peter Schroeder
Tensions between the Obama administration and Europe’s leaders will be high this week when Washington hosts the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.

The debt crisis in Europe has spread to U.S. shores, causing gyrations to financial markets also unnerved by the near-failure of the administration and Congress to raise the debt ceiling.

European leaders have struggled to get their hands around a debt crisis that started in Greece and has moved to European giants Italy and Spain. Worries about whether those countries can pay back their debts, and how this might affect banks on both sides of the Atlantic has contributed to a global economic slowdown.

It is a slowdown that threatens a second term for President Obama, whose approval ratings have plummeted on his handling of the economy.

Daily Mail: Obama's White House is a 'hostile environment for females that treats women like meat'

Obama's White House is a 'hostile environment for females that treats women like meat'

  • Allegations in Confidence Men: Wall Steet, Washington and the Education of a President, by Ron Suskind
Last updated at 2:28 PM on 17th September 2011

Top female advisers felt left out by a boy's club in the White House where rampant infighting sabotaged the administration's economic decisions, according to a controversial new book.

Sidelined and ignored in the West Wing, some women aides reportedly complained to President Obama about their treatment in 2009.

In an excerpt obtained by the Washington Post, a female senior aide is quoted as calling the White House a hostile environment for women.

Today, a top national restaurant chain partnered with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move childhood anti-obesity campaign. Last year, that same company received a waiver exempting it from some of the most stringent mandates of ObamaCare.
Michelle Obama visited an Olive Garden restaurant in Hyattsville, Maryland today as Darden Restaurants announced that it would reduce the amount of calories and sodium in its menu by 20% over the next decade.
Darden Restaurants, which owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, and Seasons 52, received a waiver from Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on October 26, 2010 allowing the company to avoid some of the insurance mandates of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as ObamaCare...
