Republican Bob Turner won in an upset Tuesday in a special congressional election, claiming a New York City seat that has been held by Democrats since the 1920s. Turner, a 70-year-old former cable TV executive with no experience in elected office, ran a conservative campaign against President Obama's handling of the economy and, in a district with a large Jewish vote, opposing the president's support of Palestinian statehood.
