I have just received word that Carroll County Commissioner candidate Mike Zimmer has won the third seat in the Carroll County Commissioner’s office, by approximately 1400 votes after the counting of the absentee ballots.

At the end of a long day last Tuesday, incumbent Republican County Commissioners Julia Gouge, Dean Minnich and challenger Michael Zimmer were the top three vote-getters. However only 500 votes separated Republican Zimmer and Democrat challenger Dennis Beard, with over 6000 absentee ballots to be counted.

After a day of counting, the absentee ballots now confirm the winner to be Mike Zimmer.

Congratulations Commissioner Zimmer.
