Jesse Stone No Remorse

I enjoyed the latest in the Tom Selleck - Jesse Stone series by the late Robert B. Parker that aired on CBS this evening...

Jesse Stone: No Remorse

Sunday, May 9th, 9/8c on CBS

JESSE STONE: NO REMORSE, starring Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award winner Tom Selleck, will be broadcast Sunday, May 9th, 9/8c (2 hours) on the CBS Television Network. Selleck reprises his Emmy-nominated role as Jesse Stone ("Jesse Stone: Sea Change") in the sixth installment of the Jesse Stone franchise from Sony Pictures Television. The series includes "Stone Cold," "Jesse Stone: Night Passage," "Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise," "Jesse Stone: Sea Change" and "Jesse Stone: Thin Ice." The movies are based on characters created by the late Robert B. Parker in the best-selling series of books.

In JESSE STONE: NO REMORSE, Police Chief Jesse Stone, who was suspended by the Paradise, Mass. Town Council, begins moonlighting for his friend, State Homicide Commander Healy, by investigating a series of murders in Boston, leaving Rose and Suitcase to handle a crime spree in Paradise on their own. Jesse pours his energy into his work in an effort to push away his twin demons: booze and women. When his investigation leads to notorious mob boss Gino Fish, Jesse's pursuit becomes hazardous.

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Kathy Baker ("Picket Fences") and Kohl Sudduth ("Grosse Pointe") reprise their roles as Rose Gammon and Luther "Suitcase" Simpson, the only police officers in Paradise. Stephen McHattie ("2012") reprises his role as State Homicide Commander Healy, as does William Devane ("24") as Jesse's psychiatrist, Dr. Dix, and William Sadler ("The Shawshank Redemption") as Gino Fish. Saul Rubinek ("Warehouse 13") returns as Hasty Hathaway, fresh from a stint in prison, and Krista Allen ("The Starter Wife") joins the cast as Hathaway's ex-wife, Cissy, who never misses an opportunity to tell Jesse she's interested.

About the Jesse Stone Movies

Jesse Stone: Stone Cold: Tom Selleck is Jesse Stone, a former L.A. homicide detective who left behind the big city and an ex-wife to become the police chief of the quiet New England fishing town of Paradise, Massachusetts. Stone's old habits die hard as he continues to indulge in his two favorite things - scotch and women. When a series of murders take place, and a high school girl is raped, he's forced to face his own demons in order to solve the crimes.

Jesse Stone: Night Passage: Co-starring William Devane (TV’s Knot’s Landing), the TV movie finds Chief Stone (Selleck) settling into his new life in Paradise when he becomes obsessed with finding the killer of a teenage girl. His quest to solve the murder unearths facts indicating there is more to the girl’s history than originally suspected and the new clues lead him to probe the Boston underworld.

Jesse Stone: Death In Paradise: Jesse Stone: Night Passage is a prequel to 2005’s Stone Cold. Co-starring Stephanie March (TV’s Law & Order: SVU) and Stephen Baldwin (The Usual Suspects), the telefilm depicts Jesse Stone’s (Selleck) first days as Paradise, Massachusetts’ Chief of Police. He must immediately find the killer of his predecessor, plus investigate a domestic violence situation involving the city’s resident hothead (Baldwin), whose ties to a local bank manager expose a money-laundering scheme.

Jesse Stone: Sea Change: Co-starring William Devane, Kathy Baker (Edward Scissorhands) and Sean Young (Blade Runner), this installment finds Chief Stone (Selleck) bored with what he perceives as his mundane life, struggling to keep his drinking and his obsession with beautiful women under control. Stone’s restlessness gets the best of him and he re-opens a 12-year-old cold file involving the murder of a bank teller. The inquiry reveals fresh clues and Stone soon finds himself busier than ever as the unsolved case leads to another centered around an alleged rape aboard a yacht during the town’s annual Race Week.

Jesse Stone: Thin Ice: Jesse Stone is back! When his friend and fellow cop is shot during a visit to Boston, small town police chief Jesse Stone risks his life and career to solve the crime while also investigating the disappearance of a missing child in this exciting fifth installment in the popular Jesse Stone movies based on the best-selling books by Robert B. Parker.

Although he denies being a Cylon

Although he denies being a Cylon

December 5, 2008

Although he
defiantly denies being a Cylon, or that he knows anything about Hera Agathon, the 12 Colonies, or Renoir; Kevin Dayhoff claims to know a great deal about the “first Cylon War,” only because he is an economic historian.

Nonetheless, he bids you a warm
welcome to the machine.

He has been known to have a great deal of affection for toasters, and possesses and
unblinking eye, yet he refuses to shed a teardrop or be a writer that is dissolved, or be boxed-in about likes and dislikes; and has a certain fondness for Betty Blue, Easter Eggs and thinks Beatrice Dalle is pretty killer.

Known to be
synchronized in his own head, ten years after, 50,000 miles beneath his brain, he seems to enjoy extending upon his immediate environment a projection of his day dreams which he claims will change the appearance of his immediate environment.

Nevertheless, at the end of a long day, it does appear that some deterioration seems to result in his appearance, which causes some folks to wonder…

And that’s
the final scene as the white cat asks “Are you writing?”

20070406 Bladerunner Tears in the rain

Bladerunner: Tears in the rain…

Posted April 6th, 2007

“I've seen things you wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in the rain...Time to die.” Bladerunner (1982)

I have a Bladerunner vid (“20061121 Blade Runner Welcome to the Machine”)

up on my YouTube account. I am notified when I get comments and the last time I checked a comment – I noticed this great clip from the movie…

And actually – this clip is even better:

20061121 Blade Runner Welcome to the Machine

Good Morning – Welcome to the Machine

November 22, 2006

“Do androids dream of electric sheep?”

This is a “trailer” for the 1982 cult sci-fi classic by Ridley Scott, “Blade Runner,” set to the music of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine.”

What a combination. What a way to start the day. Put the headset on and enjoy.

I found it at: http://brmovie.com/

It was described as:

Welcome to 2019” – “If Vangelis hadn't provided such superb music for Blade Runner, then I think we might have been inclined to turn to Pink Floyd for the soundtrack. To see why, download this excellent composition of Blade Runner movie clips edited together by Patrick Meaney to the Pink Floyd track "Welcome to the Machine". This is a 10.8 Mb .wmv file.”

20061119 Reel Fanatic

Reel Fanatic

November 19th, 2006 Labels: , , ,

“Reel Fanatic” left a great comment on my “20061118 Cruise and Holmes why should I care” post.

Curious, I went to his web site.

What a great web site. Check it out.

His profile indicates that his life was altered by seeing the movie “Spinal Tap.” I can relate.

Also, check out his post: “Spectacular spy flicks.”

“39 Steps” and “La Femme Nikita,” are also some of my all-time favorite movies - - and the rest of the movies on the list in the post are all great movies.

The top of my list (of movies in general) includes, to name a few: “Betty Blue,” “Blue Velvet,” “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” “The Marriage of Maria Braun,” “Lili Marleen,” “The Tin Drum,” “Veridiana,” "Rashomon," “Wings of Desire,” and “Blade Runner.”

Some of the best lines are in “Blade Runner.”

“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams ... glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost ... in time, like tears ... in rain. Time ... to die.” (Roy Batty)

I’ve been hooked on movies since, as a young lad; I would watch “westerns” with my Dad. Great childhood memories. There for awhile, I would keep a log as to what I watched and when, with my comments. Geez I wished I still had that log.

Later, in my twenties, I again started to keep track of the movies I got to see. I was a regular at “The Charles Theatre” and the “Biograph Theatre” at
2819 M Street, NW, Washington, DC

I think my record was something like 65 movies in one year. I would go to New York for movies (and Off Broadway and Off Off Broadway) not available in the Baltimore – DC area.

I think that it was in New York that my co-conspirator in these endeavors started to balk when I “made” her sit through four Woody Allen movies in a row.

Then I topped it off on another occasion with Hans-Jürgen Syberberg’s “Ludwig - Requiem für einen jungfräulichen König,” (“Ludwig - Requiem for a Virgin King,” with a few Rainer Werner Fassbinder movies sprinkled–in for overkill.

Great web site Mr. Keith Demko. I’ll be sure to visit frequently.
