Earl Seipp, 92 son of Westminster Police Chief

Earl Seipp Obituary Westminster, MD - Earl Seipp age 92, of Westminster, died February 5, 2022 in Randallstown, MD from heart-related problems.


A memorial service will be held for Earl Seipp at the Carroll Lutheran Village's Krug Chapel on Friday, February 18th, 2022, at 3:00 pm. The address is 300 St. Luke Circle Westminster, MD 21158.


Born July 4, 1929, in Westminster, Maryland. Earl was a lifelong resident of Carroll County.


Earl Seipp was the son of the late Charles L. Seipp (former Westminster City Chief of Police) and Helen (Rhodes) Seipp. Earl graduated from Westminster High School in 1947.


He married Elizabeth Jane (White) Seipp in April 1958. Together they raised two daughters, Robin and Heidi. Betty predeceased Earl in June 1997. Soon after her death, Earl took residence at Carroll Lutheran Village where he spent the rest of his life.


Earl served in the U.S. Army from 1948-1951. He was stationed in post-WWII Germany and later in Washington, D.C. He used his VA benefits to pursue a B.A. in Sociology from Western Maryland College.


He had a long career as a life insurance salesman – "selling something no one wants" as he frequently said. He loved horses, shooting sports, photography, high diving, and conservative politics.


Earl was a long-time member of the V.F.W. and served as their chaplain for a decade. Earl was fond of telling stories and reminiscing about the past.


His daughters, Robin Hanna of Florida and Heidi Berry of Virginia survive along with Heidi's husband, Russ, and their two sons Seth, his wife Michelle, and Roberto.


Earl's brother, Darryl Seipp and his wife Judy both reside in Westminster. Earl was predeceased by a sister, LaRue Blizzard and his brothers Charles Seipp Jr., Robert Seipp, and Jack Seipp.


A memorial service will be held at the Carroll Lutheran Village's Krug Chapel on Friday, February 18th, 2022, at 3:00 pm. The address is 300 St. Luke Circle Westminster, MD 21158.

A private graveside service will be held in Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to assist the work of Samaritan's Purse (samaritanspurse.org).

Retired MSP 1st Lt David Lauder,99 (1922 - 2022)

David Allen Lauder, 99, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Westminster, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 27, 2022, at his daughter's home. 

David was an army veteran of World War II, after the war he worked as a Maryland State Trooper for 28 years retiring a 1st Lieutenant in 1976. In 1977, he went to work for the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Maryland in the security police force for 18 years and retired as a Lieutenant in 1993. 

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157) where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, with Pastor Richard Humphreys officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hills Memorial Gardens in Baltimore.

Born August 12, 1922, in Pekin, he was the son of the late David and Florence Lauder, nee Russell; devoted husband of Freda M. Lauder, his wife of 71 years; loving father of Victoria Kirmse and her husband Francis of Dundalk and Debra Darchicourt and her husband David of Hanover, PA; beloved grandfather of Jonathan Rusk and his wife Nichole, Aaron Kirmse, Jessica Roop and her husband Jason, Joshua Darchicourt; cherished great grandfather of Alyssa Rusk and Benjamin Roop. 

In his spare time, he loved traveling and camping with his wife, he enjoyed getting together with other retired State Troopers at Baugher's Restaurant in Westminster as often as he could. He enjoyed reading and watching football and most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Retired First Sergeant Chief of Operations Chris Collins at McDaniel College dies at age 56

Obituary for Marlon Linton Collins
December 09, 1961 - April 09, 2018

Marlon "Chris" Linton Collins, 56, of Hampstead, passed away on April 9, 2018 at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born December 9, 1961 in Trinidad, West Indies, he was the son of Rosetta (Morales) Collins and the late Harry Collins. He was the beloved husband of Tammy Collins, his wife of 24 years.

He was pastor at Eagle Christian Ministries and had worked at McDaniel College for 29 years, where he retired as First Sergeant Chief of Operations in the Department of Campus Safety.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is daughter, Lauren Collins; sons, Myles Collins and Christian Collins; brother, Shawn Collins of Moore, OK; sisters, Esther Smith of Hampstead and Lystra Cipriano of Severna Park, MD; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Matthew Collins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 13, 2018, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, 11:00 am at the Eline Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to River Valley Ranch, 3500 Commerce Drive, Halethorpe, MD 21227 (a Christian children's camp).

Beloved husband of 33 years to Carolyn McCowan Meeks

Dearest son of the late Roger R. Meeks, Sr and late Audrey B. (Murray) Meeks.

Devoted father of Melissa M. and husband Michael Hartzell of Finksburg and Justin W. Meeks of Sykesville.

Dear brother of Michele and husband Dennis Leppert of Westminster.

Devoted Pops to his little buddy Logan Michael Hartzell.

Loving uncle of Todd and wife Jen Leppert, and Jeff Leppert.

Loving great-uncle of Tyler, Makenzie, Danielle, and Brooke. Also survived by numerous members of the McCowan family.

Capt. Meeks began his career with the Maryland State Police in 1981. He was a proud member of MSP S.T.A.T.E. Team. Retired from Homeland Security as an Investigator. He loved to travel with friends and family and was a Mustang Enthusiast.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A (Beside S. Carroll High), 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2016 10 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 with MD State Police Chaplain Jeff Paulson officiating.
