"Our opinion of government workers is notoriously low. Just look at these suggested searches from Google.
While Silicon Valley start-ups reinvent the world, most government agencies can only dream of being innovators. Basic competence on tech projects is a struggle, as the rollout of HealthCare.com illustrated.

Ineptocracy

Ineptocracy

June 17, 2013

The 2014 elections will bring many new faces to new seats and offices throughout the state. It is developing as the perfect storm collision of certain office holders being termed-out of office, others have been in office way too long and change is in the wind. Not to be overlooked is much of the voting public has developed recession fatigue and the public remains restless with a non-specific general malaise brought about as a result of the ineptocracy system of government that pervades the land.

For those who are not aware, ineptocracy is “a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.”

A big thanks and a Hat Tip to the former commissioner’s wife…..

Fort Worth Star Telegram: The Watchdog: Water meter reading turns into flood of errors

Fort Worth Star Telegram: The Watchdog: Water meter reading turns into flood of errors

By Dave Lieberwatchdog@star-telegram.com

Stephen Geis checked his bank account online and found an unexpected overdraft of $19,000 from his account.

Minutes later, his wife called and told him their monthly Fort Worth water bill had arrived in the mail totaling $19,000.

What happened? Error upon error upon error.

His actual water use for the month totaled a measly $22. But he wouldn't learn that until The Watchdog investigated. Geis also never learned the cause of the problem until I told him later.

Water Department staffers later tried to explain it to him, but the words they used were so confusing that it made no sense. Geis had been billed for 3.6 million gallons of water his family had supposedly used in one month. That's enough to fill more than five Olympic-size swimming pools. Put another way, his bill was about 863 times higher than it should have been.

Budget problems continue for Maryland’s local governments

And it is only going to worse…

December 1, 2009 by Kevin Dayhoff

I did this piece of art in September 1994. The more things change the more they stay the same. At some point, the entire manner in which local government in Maryland is funded needs to be changed so that all our tax revenue does not get lost in a black hole in Annapolis and gets re-directed to the government that is closest to the citizens. Woman with the Ones above Carroll County
http://kevindayhoffart.blogspot.com/2009/12/woman-with-ones-above-carroll-county.html)

Read: See Charles Schelle’s article on the press conference today when the employee layoffs were announced: 18 county government employees to lose jobs By Charles Schelle Move to save estimated $3 million http://www.explorecarroll.com/news/3672/layoffs/

See also: Carroll County Commissioners to hold news conference on budget http://tinyurl.com/yhcoklt - and - Carroll Co Budget, Carroll Co employees, MD State Budget

18 county government employees to lose jobs:

This is so sad. And at this time of the year; not that any time of the year is a good time to lose employees – or your job...

My heart and prayers go out to the employees who have lost their job – and to the folks who were forced to make theses difficult decisions.

I happen to agree with the Carroll County government press release today, Carroll Co MD Commissioners eliminate positions http://tinyurl.com/y9zyanu http://tinyurl.com/y9zyanu: “Carroll County already has one of the leanest staffs in Maryland. A survey by the Maryland Association of Counties ranks Carroll as the second-lowest number of employees per capita.”

The problem is certainly not with over-staffing on the part of Carroll County government.

The problem is the systematic irresponsible spending in Annapolis and now the state is balancing its books on the backs of local government.

Neither the current administration or the Maryland General Assembly has the stomach for raising taxes – especially after the fiasco from the Maryland Special Taxing Session from November 2007, which only made matters worse…

So instead of doing the correct thing and cutting-out systemic wasteful spending, they want to force local government to raise taxes.

Add this to the incredible amount of money that Maryland has lost to surrounding states in retail sales as a result of raising the retail sales tax. Remember there is barely any location in Maryland that is not within 40 miles of the state line…

And add to this the large number of high income Marylanders who have simply left the state as a result of the prohibitive tax increase that was levied against them…

The result is a net loss of a great deal of state revenue that is above and beyond the turndown in the economy – especially since, until the recent taxing initiatives had such a disastrous result, most economist and political pundits considered Maryland recession proof.

This is a mess. And it is not a mess that will be solved anytime soon because nothing will hold the Maryland General Assembly accountable and the ruling party in Maryland is so arrogant they are completely inaccessible to any contrarian argument or debate, discussion or dialogue…

The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 - you have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked and our entire country is broke.

Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009... none show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a new b*tch: the American taxpayer.

And finally, to set a new record:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAGybcuKGZQIzM_UKDFHbkv5c4PWVTMMQ2JTK126tsHg7R8DWTIAGM2rX-L3oAvrF-tdCA2xVIbyWL8pUz0E8TdTwn_LEZGqfm7EZ_APovzU-1tk61wGRM5FAVdMbO0Ph0ML1iF4gklrg/s1600-h/090825-cash.jpg
"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took good dependable cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress' generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on failed experiments.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkt25OtVa97DhZ3Rpaa5wUwoLo6lyNUs5omw1x6N4EHzwSUi7UTek1AFsz9uNiyyoe2HW1sOa0WYKVnjameDFW969sers4wot_3RUqFSnjz76UXgJSO3toeSmgns7ORHBKAn3KBdcYS9U/s1600-h/090825-o-p-r.jpg
So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?
20% of our entire economy?
With all due respect,
Are you crazy?
