At 7 a.m. on that day, about 200 people gathered for breakfast at Martin's Westminster to honor some very special people: the winners of the Community Foundation of Carroll County's 2016 Philanthropists of the Year. 9 Journalists And Executives At A Leading Turkish Newspaper Are Arrested

I have not heard much more about this. Whatever became of this…? I mean, I am well aware that the political landscape in Turkey is rapidly changing… I guess I am looking for an objective quick analysis of where we are today in Turkey, with respect to the harassment of journalists. 01/14/2017 KED

9 Journalists and Executives at a Leading Turkish Newspaper Are Arrested http://n.pr/2fc4MHo

Bill Chappell, NPR: November 5, 2016

It's one of Turkey's oldest and most-respected newspapers — and that description comes from a rival. But on Saturday, the editor-in-chief, a cartoonist, and seven board members of daily newspaper Cumhuriyet were sent to prison pending trial.

Prosecutors initially ordered the nine journalists detained on Monday, as part of an anti-terrorism investigation linked to a failed coup attempt in Turkey earlier this year. Four others with ties to the newspaper, including two columnists, were released on bail Saturday.

Country View Tuxedo & Wedding Accessories is relocating to a shop almost right next door on Main St in Westminster https://kevindayhoffwestgov-net.blogspot.com/2016/11/country-view-tuxedo-wedding-accessories.html

Mon, Oct 31, 2016

Hello Kevin,

We really appreciate you sharing this information.

Country View Tuxedo & Wedding Accessories was founded February 1998.

Has always been in the Winchester Exchange building in downtown Westminster. And now has relocated into a more convenient and customer friendly location.

I know how important it is for my customers to look the best for their wedding, prom, or social event. I want to give my customers great prices, great selection, and great service. If I would make an error. I am willing to go beyond to make it the best experience. I am a Christian and feel I have a calling here. Saying a silent prayer for the bride and groom that they have a beautiful and wonderful wedding day. Or that the students make it to and from the prom safely.

Styles have changed since I have opened and I have had to adjust to the changes. Suits are being rented as much as tuxedos. So we offer suits and tuxedos, for sale beside as a rental.

The store also has a gift shop with unique items made with forks and spoons, we also have jeeps, motorcycles, and tractors made from car parts.

I am now selling fireman uniforms to local fire departments. I look forward to including service to the police department. My plans are to expand future my services.

Shelly will be sending her information very soon.

Thank You'

Dayhoff: Enjoying autumn leaves in Carroll County Maryland

Dayhoff: Enjoying autumn leaves in Carroll County Maryland

Time Flies by Kevin Dayhoff October 7, 2016

For those of us who adore the long days, sunshine, heat, and humidity of Maryland summers; the shorter days and crisp temperatures of October bring mixed emotions.

We are certainly happy to turn off the air conditioning, throw open the windows and enjoy the cooler temperatures and the brilliant colors of the leaves in Carroll County.

However, we all know in the back of our minds that winter is not far away. Winters in Maryland are hateful. Snow is a four-letter word. Ice is the wrath of the Gods.

Yet, for a runner, the kaleidoscope of the fall colors are a welcome distraction to the constant pounding of footsteps on a fall run.

Fall is for runners. Whether you walk or run, the Wakefield Valley Community Trail is arguably one of the best places to enjoy fall in Carroll County.

Prague's Kafka International Named Most Alienating Airport

This is where we are going on October 13, 2016. Just saying.
Too funny. We have used the airport in Prague before and it was fine.

Business Week ranked the airport last in customer
satisfaction due to long delays, bureaucratic employees, and overall oppressive
atmosphere.
