In an historic, extraordinary step in the proper direction
for the economic future of our great country, Rep. Barney Frank (D., MA)
announced Monday that he is retiring from Congress.
Representative Frank’s retirement bookends another step in
the right direction – the retirement of Sen. Christopher Dodd (D., CT) on
January 3, 2011.
Frank’s retirement at 71 represents a growing tsunami of
liberal lawmakers headed for the door and not seeking to run for another term.
He was first elected to the House in 1980 and chaired the House Financial
