Toyota #junkmail Customer service #fail

Toyota #junkmail Customer service #fail

Speaking of customer service: For 3-years we have asked Toyota 6 times to remove us from its unwanted #junkmail marketing campaign. #FAIL

Dec. 16, 2015

We are now once again asking Toyota to stop mailing us junk marketing materials. What is the point of mailing stuff to folks who do not want the materials? If it is to annoy an otherwise good customer – it has worked.

As if it were not already well-accepted that going to new car dealerships to be a horrible experience….

Toyota Tampa Permit #2245, 9427 Corporate Lake Drive, Tampa, FL 33634 must be the junk mail capital of the world. Why isn’t there a way to ask the junk mailers to stop?

And anecdotally it has always appeared that Toyota sells personal information to the extended vehicle warranty scammers.

The Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles has said that they do not sell private personal information to marketers – so how do the scammers get the information?

We asked Ford once to not put us into its junk mail marketing campaigns when we had the truck repaired recently for a recall notice and never received any junk mail.

Gee, I guess we will avoid Toyota dealerships in the future. Just saying

We have been registered with the Direct Marketing Association www.dmachoice.org - do not mail list for years – but it certainly does not stop the unscrupulous.

We already avoid buying anything from mail-order catalogs because of the unwanted junk mail catalog problems a purchase creates….

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Safeguards Your Driving and Vehicle Records

Your Driving and Vehicle Records Are Your Business

As of July 1, 2000, every driving and motor vehicle record in the State of Maryland is closed unless you request, in writing, that your records be open to the public.

Your private records are protected from public scrutiny, thanks to a bill passed by the Maryland General Assembly and signed into law by the Governor. Your records are now automatically closed to the public unless they are requested by the police, an insurance company, a hospital or for another official business purpose.

The Motor Vehicle Administration's (MVA's) computer system works with other national systems (the national Driver Registry, Problem Driver Pointer System, Social Security Administration and Commercial Driver License Information System) to compare data. The MVA uses a firewall to assure the safety of its information and all its data systems and computer programs are safe and secure. Built-in safeguards in the MVA's computer system reduce the risk of identity fraud and protect the security of all transactions.

Now, without written permission from you, no one, except for those groups listed above who need this information for official business purposes, can obtain the following personal information about you from the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA):

Westminster Municipal Band Annual Dinner meeting.

With lots of great folks celebrating another good year at the Westminster Municipal Band Annual Dinner meeting.

Carroll Magazine Union Bridge: The Little Town That Could Apr 1, 2005 Written By Leslie Eckard

Ms. Leslie Eckard just called to my attention an article she had written on Union Bridge for Carroll Magazine in 2005.

I have just filed a story on Union Bridge and the Western Maryland Railway – and the railway museum in Union Bridge. I had dinner at the “Original Pizza” and posted some pictures on Facebook…

Posted By CM on Apr 1, 2005

Written By Leslie Eckard

Highlights:

Community spirit and innovation run like parallel train tracks in Union Bridge. The area is a study in contrasts: a hard scrabble land of rock and swamp that inspires works of art; a town poised for a growth spurt while holding on fiercely to its heritage.

Located on the Piedmont Plateau in western Carroll County, Union Bridge has retained its population (approximately 1,000) and small-town feel for generations. With its one stoplight and absence of fast-food restaurants, coffee bars, and strip malls–it is a throwback to a simpler time…

[…]

Other improvements included the establishment of Little Pipe Creek Park, a wetlands preserve complete with a bicycle and walking trail…

[…]

Union Bridge has a long-standing tradition of community spirit. In 1820, early descendants of the original settler, William Farquhar, worked together to build a bridge that would span the swamp and join their lands together.

[…]

Between 1855 and 1862, with the coming of the Western Maryland Railroad, the population of the town exploded…

[…]

Another Union Bridge “import” and fan is Angelo Monteleone, whose restaurant, Original Pizza, is a must-see…

We enjoyed our food. The service was great. Our server was very friendly. There are plenty of tables which is good because a steady stream of customers visited while we were there.

“Original Pizza” is bright, clean, and well maintained. It has all manner of great Union Bridge history memorabilia, pictures, artifacts, and mementos. It is like eating at a museum cafeteria.

It sits across the intersection from the sculpture at the corner of North Main Street and East Broadway, which is a reproduction of “Love Reconciled with Death” by Union Bridge native William Henry Rinehart (1825-1874.)

Stop by and tell them Mayor Perry Jones’ Uncle Kevin sent you.

South America Argentina President Mauricio Macri

Dec. 12, 2015

This is too fun, the newly elected president of Argentina, Mr. Mauricio Macri, is now following my Twitter feed - https://twitter.com/kevindayhoff @kevindayhoff.

In the past I have written a number of articles about South American politics; specifically Cuba, Panama, Bolivia; Chile and her president, Michelle Bachelet – a physician who military expert, (yes, read that a second time,) who must be one of the world’s most intriguing players on the world stage; Brazil and Argentina. I just got back from Cuba.

One of the fascinating things about writing about South America, is that you get mail (e-mails) – and sometimes lots of it.

In the past it seems that I may have annoyed some of the followers of the former president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Or not, maybe it was my imagination. She was president from 2007 to 2015 and the widow of former president Néstor Kirchner…

I am thrilled that President Macri is following me on Twitter. Let’s see what we can do with this, eh?

@PresidenteMacri #MacriPresidente Congratulations on your election Mr. President.
